FAQs for newborn shoots

·      All mothers want their new-born babies to have their photos taken. It is recommended the photo session should be booked in the first 14 days of the baby being born. The response Simran get’s is, “really that early? Isn't the baby’s skin all wrinkly, flaky and spotty?” Some babies do have milk spots and flakes as they have been in the womb for 9 months. These will be edited out which is part of the final delivery. Unless there is a birthmark that you know will be there for the rest of their lives, only remove spots and blemishes will be removed.

·      Why do you have to do the shoot within 14 days of the baby being born? Babies are more likely to sleep and are less fidgety. The swaddle photos are easier to capture in the first 14days, and the session will be a lot more smoother.

·      When should I book a newborn shoot? When you are 27 weeks pregnant, you will know the due date and this will give you an indication of your delivery. Things don’t always go to plan when giving birth, there is an element of flexibility.

·      What if my baby is born early or late, can we reschedule the shoot? Yes you can. Please inform Simran at your earliest opportunity and we can reschedule the photoshoot dependant on baby’s arrival.

·      Can I book a newborn photoshoot for a 4–6 week old baby? Yes you can. You're not guaranteed to get the shots and poses you can for a 14 day old baby. Therefore, it's best to book the newborn shoot when you are 27 weeks pregnant to ensure we can capture those beautiful poses.

 ·      Why does the Newborn shoot take 3-4 hours? Babies are unpredictable. With nappy changes and feeding, the sessions baby led which means we make sure the baby is happy before we proceed with the photoshoot.

·      Do we have to come to the studio for a newborn shoot? No. There is a call-out charge of £30 within the 5-mile radius. If it furthur out, the price will I will be dependant on the mileage. The advantage of coming to the studio is you have access to all the background and Props.

·      Can we purchase more photos after the shoot? Yes. An invoice can be sent with additional pricing and information.

·      How do we get our digital photos? You will be sent link with a password where you will be able view the watermarked photos to choose your selection. Once you made your selection, your be sent a gallery the same way and a digital pin to download them. You can save these to your phone, hard drive, Cloud etc.

·      How do we book a photoshoot? You can book via this link: click here. All payments are made online. Please contact Simran if you need to reschedule.

·      I want to change my final photo selection can I change them? No. Once a pin for download and digital photo has been emailed it cannot change it. You will need to purchase additional images. No refund is given if a digital photo is provided.

·      Do you provide baby outfits? Yes. All the wraps and outfits for the newborn shoot and cake smash. The sizes are limited up to 1 years old.

·      Do you have outfits for parents? Only maternity dresses are provided. A guide will be sent to you to prepare for the photoshoot session. This can also be discussed in the consultation.

·      Where is the photoshoot? Simran has a home studio and Is based in Hansdworth Wood.

·      I have more then 1 child can I have them in the photoshoot? Yes I can shoot up to a family of 5 in the studio. 

·      How long will it take to see the photos? The photos are ready within 14 days.

·      When do we get the photos/prints? Digital photos will be given within 2-3 days of your selection. Prints will be ready within 2-3 weeks, most often earlier and will be posted out to you. If there is a mail disruption, like strike, there will be a delay of delivery.

·      Can we have a USB? Yes. you will have the same number of Photos on a USB as you have in the package. The USB comes in a box and is £75.

·      Can we order larger photos, like canvases? Yes. There is an online store attached to your gallery.
